mid-january blog / pre-natality blues

two weeks and two days into the new year… and four days short of my natal anniversary…

my employer was kind enough to grant me two days off this week in order to observe  my natality. there are no questions, i would definitely take my leave of absence. usually, during this time of the year, i prefer leaving the city and spending it somewhere far from home (contrary to the belief that one should not be travelling for he may be prone to fatal accidents). this year though, in a span of four days, the universe has been sending me signals (strong ones) that i should be more wiser, stay put somewhere nearby and hang on to what i have, instead of going nuts and splurging as i would normally do. [in a way, they are also MIXED signals because these crappy events are also one's cue to take a vacay and go nuts with the booze!]

will i pay attention and adhere? stubborness never did me any good, (and yes, i say these words with conviction hehe), so what will happen is i’ll be nearby and mindful of my activities during these times. it’ll also be cool to reconnect with peeps i haven’t seen for awhile. it’s been awhile since i’ve been with familiar faces so i guess that’s a good thing.

i wish nons and android were here though :~( i could use some cheer.

1. last day of the year
2. sad to say, it was a very unproductive year
3. i didn’t get promoted this year.
4. half of the year was more of wasted time and tears, irrelevant (now that i look back on it) heartache
5. there were a few good things about it too… gained a number of new friends, expanded my network
6. achieved one out of three goals
7. which is why i’m excited to start anew (2012)…
8. if i keep on doing what i’ve done, i’ll keep on getting what i’ve got (mantra then, mantra now)

my dsl provider took pity on me and bumped up my internet speed… it’s now 3x faster than it used to be. ^_^

in the midst of all the rain and fury…

i have a huge scratch across my forehead :~( which is preventing me from putting on foundation. i’m so pale, i could pass for a person undergoing chemotherapy. i hope it heals in a jiffy.

ka-blog!

1. i enjoyed x-men: first class. saw it last sat (thank goody goodness for my aunty vix for that)… movie was awesome, and we got loot bags too… c/o mrs. fields (apparently, mrs. fields is their client) ^_^
2. i enjoyed the movie so much that i am revisiting the 4 other x-men flicks. in about thirteen minutes, i’m watching X2. tee-hee!
3. took an exam today at the BFF‘s former company. i have never done soooo much math in my life!
4. i have a huge scratch on my forehead, no thanks to my pet ferret, J. >.<
5. lately i have been cooking again. i forgot how much fun it used to be.
6. can anybody spell HEAT? isn’t the summer supposed to be over? where’s the rain? seriously, i thought i was going to have a heat stroke awhile ago.
7. i don’t see 11:11 anymore. neither does my friend jet-jet. just sharing an observation.
8. it’s so fun badgering sheila’s friend… i’ve been posting irrelevant videos on his wall. i hope he’ll be a good sport and won’t unfriend me for that. LOL.
9. rafa is sooo cute. rafa is my cousin P’s newborn child. he is a week and two days old. i’ll definitely be visiting him again soon.

random muuusings

1. my very “curious” son broke my remaining decent earbuds.
2. my friend er and i encountered the most dismal-smelling parking lot awhile ago… and when i say dismal, i mean “i-would-rather-die-than-breathe” dismal! egad.
3. doing a “rush hour” marathon… watched the first two installments a couple of days ago (or so), and will get started on the third one about sixteen minutes from now. i could see these movies again and again, and they would still crack me up.
4. rainy season already… sign of the times, as i’d always say
5. listening to 90′s music makes me cheery (but realizing i’m listening using only one earbud pisses me off!)
